Girls' High School,
Gloucester,
let April 1913.
Miss Gilbert was Assistant Mistress in this
School from September 1910
to July 1911, and I am happy to testify to the conscientious way in which
she carried out the duties of her position. As the school numbers over 300
girls from the age of 5 to 19 years, the work is not light, and a mistress
must be both earnest and efficient to be at all successful.
Miss Gilbert's principal subject was French which she taught in several
classes, but she also taught History and English in Liddle and Upper formis
she spared no pains in the preparation of her lessons and the results of her
teaching were good. She was able to maintain good discipline without undue
offort or friction and was liked by her pupils. Miss Gilbort was uniformly
punctual and methodical in her work, a lady in every sonso of the vord, loyal,
and always willing and anxious to de ell in her power to promote the inter-
esto of the school.
Sho loft entirely by her own desire (to go abroad) and I have every con-
fidence in recommending her as an efficient and useful kistress.
